ARMSTRONG RIGG PLANNING
Site: Braybrooke Farm, Braybrooke, Market Harborough
Client: Braybrooke Beer Company
Braybrooke Beer Co was formed in 2017 and started brewing in 2018 with one aim, to make really good, proper lager. Situated in part of a former grain barn at Braybrooke farm, just outside Braybrooke village, they converted the space and installed state-of-the-art equipment, perfect for brewing unfiltered, unpasteurised and naturally carbonated beers. Between 2018 and 2022 they increased production every year and quickly reached capacity. ARP were appointed to secure planning permission to expand capacity without the need to move locations. The brewery is rooted in the local community where its founder has lived with his family for 40 years and the brewery is named after the local village. Key to the success of the proposal was demonstrating that a larger operation could function in this rural location without adverse impacts on the local area and that it could deliver benefits to the local community.
ARP secured planning permission in July 2023 for the re-design and extension of the existing brewery to provide a larger brewing area and new storage, laboratory and office space. Consent was also granted for a tap room, beer garden and the siting of an airstream trailer for serving hot food.
